APPREHENSION OF ACCUSED TUMMA MOHAN REDDY IN CR NO. 229/2023 U/S 420, 380 IPC OF PS MARKET, WHO CHEATED AND COMMITTED THEFT OF GOLD ORNAMENTS FROM A WOMAN ON THE GUISE OF MARRIAGE ALLIANCE (TRIMONIAL) BY MARKET POLICE.

MODUS OPERANDI:

This is a case of CHEATING ON THE GUISE OF MARRIAGE ALLIANCE (TRIMONIAL) & THEFT OF GOLD ORNAMENTS IN A HOTEL, occurred on 8.11.2023 at 0920 hours in Room No: 401, Hotel Yatri Inn, Sec-bad, wherein the accused person Mohan Reddy conversed with the victim with a fake name Srinadh for marriage alliance (under matrimonial) through a matrimonial website Bharathmatrimony.com and called her to Hotel Yatri Inn at Sec-bad. When the victim went for washroom, by taking advantage of that, he fled away along with her bag containing the gold ornaments (27 Tulas).   

The accused is habitual offender involved in similar types of cheating offences by trapping divorced innocent women and there by looted huge money, gold ornaments of victims under various police stations. The accused is the native of Nednoor (v) of Kandukur (M), RR District and was doing his farming. In the year 2011 he got married and went Kalwakurthy, where he worked as a school teacher in a private school and there he worked for 2 years. There he was necked out for involving in the below mentioned case. 

 

1)Cr.No 30/2013 U/s 506, 354, SC ST POA ACT 3-I-Xi, Kalwakurthy PS: Where in the accused was working as private teacher in a private school and the victim girl was studying 10th class in the same school, by staying in the school hostel. Wherein the accused Thumma Mohan Reddy was the Social Studies teacher working since 13.06.2011, r/o Nedanoor village, Kandukoor Mandal of Ranga Reddy Dist., started harassing the victim girl with an evil desire and assaulted her. In this case he was arrested and spent in jail for 3 months.

After releasing from jail, he even cheated his cousin Sri Kamdula Marreddy r/o Nednoor in the following case by selling the car of his cousin, who helped him getting out from the jail in the above case. 

2)Cr. No. 190/2021, U/s: 406, 420 IPC Kandukur PS: In this case the accused was given a car by his cousin Sri Kamdula Marreddy which was taken by him and sold it out Rs. 4,50,000/- to a car dealer in L.B. Nagar and with that money he roamed here and there and joined in a private hostel at Madhapur, where he involved in the below mentioned case.

3)Cr. No. 1182/2021, U/s: 380 IPC Madhapur PS: Accused Mohan Reddy theft the 1) computer and accessories i.e., Laptop and Airtel Dongle, Charger, 2) Personal belongings i.e., Sony Speakers, FastTrack watch and headset total worth Rs. 70,000/-. Belonging his roommate and sold them out near Elephant house, Ameerpet for Rs. 55,000/- and fled to Chaitanypuri, joined a private hostel and there he involved in the below mentioned case.

4)Cr No: 680/2021, U/s: 380 IPC Chaitanyapuri PS: Accused Mohan Reddy  committed theft the ASUS Vivoo Book15 model Laptop, worth Rs. 40,000/-At Sandhya Boys Hostel, New Dilsukhnagar, Hyderabad Belonging his roommate and sold them out near S.R. Nagar for Rs. 40,000/- and fled to Banglore and 

5)There he contacted a divorced woman in Shaadi.com and by making her believed him as her fiancé with a false promise and false information, took her credit card and purchased some Jewellery in Joyalukas shop for Rs. 2,20,000/- and switched his phone off and went to Vijayawada and sold out the gold there. There he joined in a hostel in Vijayawada and involved in the below mentioned case. 

6)Cr No: 91/2023 U/s 417,420 IPC Miyapur PS: The accused Mohan Reddy created a fake ID in Shaadi.com with a fake name as Gowtham Reddy Cheated to the complainant, met her two times in Hyderabad and by making her believed him as her fiancé with a false promise and false information and took her credit card and purchased some Jewellery in Joyallucas for Rs. 6,21,483/- and switched his phone off and went to Vijayawada and sold out there. There he joined in a hostel in Vijayawada and involved in the below mentioned case

7)Cr.No 300/2023, U/s: 420, 354, 417, 506 IPC Disha Women PS of Guntur District: In this case the Accused Mohan Reddy created a fake id in reddysmatrimony.com with a fake name as Thirumala Vijay Reddy and cheated the complainant and making her believed him as her fiancé with a false promise and false information and made her to transfer an amount of Rs. 9,00,000/- to his account and switched his phone off and went to Bangalore.

The arrest was made under the supervision of Sri. G. Madhusudan Rao, Addl. Commissioner of Police, North Zone and Sri B. Ravinder, Asst Commissioner of Police, Mahankali Division lead by Sri. M. Rama Krishna, Inspector of Police, Sri. K. Venkata Ramana, SI and team of Market P.S.
