Inspector, Cyber Crimes, Hyderabad Sri K. Haribhushan Rao Awarded 3rd prize in 3rd National Conference for State Cyber Nodal Officers by NCRB, MHA

  On 24.01.2022, a case in Cr.No.118/2022, U/Sec 66 r/w 43 66(C) 66(D) ITA Act-2000 & U/Sec 419,420 IPC was registered at Cyber Crime PS, Hyderabad regarding the swindling an amount of Rs.12.48 Crores from the AP Mahesh Co-Operative Urban Bank Ltd by some unknown hackers. In this case Cyber Crime Police of Hyderabad was succeeded in freezing an amount of Rs. 2,08,55,536/- before withdrawn from ATMs and another amount of Rs.1,08,48,990/- was Reverted back to the AP Mahesh Co-op Urban Bank.  In this case Cyber Crime Police arrested total (27) Accused persons across the country including Four (04) Nigerian Nationals and another  Sixteen (16) Accused persons were served with 41(A) Cr.P.C. Notices.

Further, the Director, NCRB, New Delhi has called for Cyber Crime cases from all States/UTs for case studies which were successfully investigated for awarding during the 3rd National Conference for State Cyber Nodal officers and shortlisted of Case study titled as “Investigation of Cyber Attacks on Banking System” of Cyber Crime Police Station, Hyderabad from Telangana State for power point presentation in the conference. Accordingly, on dt.14-09-2023, the Investigation officer Sri K.Haribhushana Rao, Inspector of Police of Cyber Crime PS, Hyderabad attended the 3rd National Conference for State Cyber Nodal officers at NCRB, New Delhi and Presented the Investigation done in this case and among (19) different case study presentations from various States/UTs, the presentation given by the Investigation officer Sri K.Haribhushana Rao, Inspector of Police of Cyber Crime PS, Hyderabad on Investigation in AP Mahesh Co-Operative Urban Bank case is Awarded 3rd prize for the state of Telangana. Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad has congratulated and appreciated the Inspector and his team for the award and the effective hard work put forth by the team in detection of the case.
