APPREHENDED ONE ACCUSED FOR ILLEGALLY SELLING FOREIGN CIGARETTES TO GAIN EASY MONEY ILLEGALLY

  Today i.e on 09-09-2023 on credible information the Commissioner’s Task Force, Central team conducted a raid at godown D.No. 15-5-551, Ashok Bazar, in the Limits of Afzalgun PS,  Hyderabad and apprehended one accused namely  Manohar Singh who is illegally imports Foreign cigarettes on low price from Delhi to Hyderabad through private transport, storage at above godown, and selling on high price to pan shop vendors, Kiran shops, petty vendors in around Hyderabad and gain illegal easy profits. 

Details of  accused :- 

Manohar Singh S/o. Pruvthi Singh, age. 26 yrs, occ. Business R/o. Ashok Bazar, Afzalgunj, Hydeeraba N/o. Rajasthan State.

Seized Cigarette material :-  Worth Rs. 3,05,000/-

1.Marlboro brand cigarettes -42 Box

2.Benson & hedges  brand cigarettes -85 Box

3.Blend no.555 Gold brand cigarettes -7 Box

4.Gold Flake brand cigarettes -40 Box

5.Esse lights brand cigarettes -120 Box

6.L&M  brand cigarettes -20 Box

7.King Edward imperial brand cigarettes -13 Box

8.Win brand cigarettes -62 Box

9.Gudang garam brand cigarettes -11 Box

10.Mond brand cigarettes -100 Box

11.Stash pro brand cigarettes -85 Box 

Facts of the case :

  The accused Manohar Singh @ Manohar is  native of  Mandar (village), Siroe Dist, Rajasthan State. Six years back migrated to Hyderabad. Presently residing  in the limits of  Ashok Bazar, Afzalgunj. He got Cigarette Lighters marketing agency. 

  To gain easy money illegally, came  into contact with Foreign cigarettes sales business agents namely Rohit Sharma at Delhi, without any tax invoice purchasing Cigarettes packets of Various brand Cigarettes   on lowest price  and transporting from Delhi to Hyderabad through road transport services and illegally storage at a godown situate at Ashok Bazar, Afzalgunj and selling on high price  to known, needy customers in around Hyderabad and gain huge profit on the foreign cigarettes illegally.

  The Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA) has made it mandatory to have graphic health warning on the 85 percent space of the cigarette packet and the Union government levies heavy taxes on the tobacco products to discourage their sale. But these foreign cigarettes have no health warning on it.

  Seized total 170  box  of various brand Cigarettes packets & market value about Rs. 3,05,000/-   

  The accused person along with above seized material handed over to SHO, Afzalgunj PS for further investigation. 

The arrest was made under the supervision of Sri.P.Radhakishan Rao,  Dy.Commissioner of Police(OSD),Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad by                   Sri B.Raju, Inspector of Police, Central Zone Task Force, and S.Sai Kiran, SI of Police along with Central Zone Task Force team, Hyderabad.
