 Four Nepalese held over murder plot in #Hyderabad


Four Nepalese have been arrested for their alleged role in an attempt to murder and robbery of Rs 10 lakh and gold ornaments from a businessman's house here, police said on Monday. Hyderabad police have also seized 90 grams of gold, cash more than Rs 1 lakh, two wristwatches, sleeping pills, cell phone from the possession of the accused The four committed the crime on October 19 and were arrested from Lucknow between October 22 and October 25, Rachakonda Commissioner of Police Mahesh M Bhagwat said. The sleuths of Malkangiri, IT Cell, Rachakonda police in coordination with the Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh police and SSB officials cracked down on the four Nepalese citizens. The complaint was registered on October 19 by Chithapulusu Pradeep Kumar(the businessman). When the businessman and other members of his family were away, the duo offered his 70-year-old mother tea laced with sleeping pills, the complaint read. In his complaint, Kumar alleged that his domestic help Arjun and his wife Maya Manju looted his house and tried killing his mother. After she became unconscious, the duo, along with their accomplices, took away 180 gm of gold ornaments, 400 grams of silver ornaments and Rs 10 lakh in cash from the house, the said."When I went to the first floor, I saw that the lockers and the cupboards were broken and cash and jewellery were missing. I called my servants but their cell phones were switched off. I found out that 180 grams of gold, 400 grams of silver and cash worth Rs 10 lakhs were stolen," the complaint read. After the incident came to the limelight, Rachakonda Police Commissioner put the investigating departments on alert and a case was registered. At least 15 teams were formed and the process of investigation began to nab the accused. Police teams were sent to Mumbai, Pune, Jhansi, Lucknow. Searches were also conducted at railway stations, airports and in areas adjoining Nepal borders. On October 22, Lucknow Inspector Balu Chauhan, acting on a tip-off, apprehended the accused Maya Manju. With the assistance of Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) police intervened her when Manju was about to board.
