PRESS NOTE 
Banjara Hills Police apprehended one person who is armed with a Loaded Pistol and also his two associates who misappropriated         111 Carat Emerald Stone from a Trader who came from Surat, Gujarat State and seized the Emerald Stone worth of about Rs. 25 Lakhs. 

Name of the arrested accused:

A1] Meka Narasimha Rao @ Sampath Rao S/o. Late. M. Saidulu, aged. 42 yrs, Occ. Business (M/s. Dravida Enterprises, Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh R/o. MVP Colony, Sector IX, Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh State, N/o. Nakarikalllu, Guntur Dist.,

A2] Jami Suresh Kumar S/o. Late. J. Sambasiva Rao, aged. 50 yrs, Occ. Cloth Business R/o. Lalitha Colony, Dhaba Gardens, Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh State.

A3] Komma Rambabu S/o. Late. K. Guruvaiah, aged. 50 yrs, Occ. Car Driver R/o. Cinemala Bazar, Nakarikalllu, Guntur Dist., Andhra Pradesh State.

Recovery:

1) Country Made Pistol with 10 live rounds.

2) Green Color Emerald Stone of purity 111 Carat.

3) Maruti Ertiga Car

Brief facts:

On 01-02-2019, Banjara Hills Police received a complaint from Sri. Juniad, a Diamond Trader from Surat of Gujarat State, in which he stated that he came to Hyderabad to sell a 111 Carat Emerald stone with the help of a broker by name Prakash of Surat and he met Narasimha Rao and Suresh. On 30-01-2019 in the afternoon they took them to M/s. Golconda Institute of Diamonds Lab at H.No. 8-2-577/B, "MAAS Heights" Ground Floor, Beside Iranian Consulate, Road No. 8, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, on pretext of giving the emerald for testing and A2 has taken the emerald from Complainant on pretext of giving it for testing and meanwhile A1 quarreled with Prakash in a preplanned manner and A2 has taken the emerald stone outside and A1 joined him and both of them sat in the Maruti Etriga Car which was kept on idle (starting position) by A3 and all of them fled away from there. A case in Cr.No. 94/2019 U/s. 406, 420 IPC of P.S. Banjara Hills is registered against A1 to A3.

The accused A1 who purchased a country made pistol and 10 bullets from some unknown person at Rayagada of Orissa State and kept the same with him in order to attack or scare anybody who tries to take the emerald or diamonds from him. He was apprehended near Ohris Island, Road No. 12, Banjara Hills while carrying a loaded pistol.  A case in Cr.No. 134/2019 U/s. 25 (1-B)(b) Indian Arms Act 1959 of P.S. Banjara Hills is registered against A1.



Modus Oprandi: 

The accused person A1 who entered into the business of Diamond Trading has purchased Diamonds / Emeralds for higher than market price and was cheated by other diamond merchants as he did not know much about the quality of the gems due to lack of experience in this field. In order to make up to his losses, he hatched a plan to misappropriate the 111 Carat of Emerald which was brought by the complainant who is a diamond merchant from Surat. The accused A1 asked his friends A2 & A3 to assist him in doing the job and A3 got a Maruti Etriga Car and A1 who already had a pistol which he purchased in Rayagada of Orissa State and kept the same with him in order to attack anybody who tries to take the emerald from him. The accused A1 was first apprehended near Ohris Island along with 111 Carat Emerald and loaded pistol and on his confession, A2 & A3 were apprehended.

The above operation was conducted under the supervision of Sri. K.S. Rao, Asst. Commissioner of Police, Banjara Hills Division by Sri. R. Govinda Reddy, Inspector of Police, Sri. K. Ravi Kumar, Detective Inspector of Police, SIs Sri. K. Rami Reddy & G. Bharath Bhushan and Staff of Banjara Hills Police station, Hyderabad.
